Metro North Career Centers

The Metro North Regional Employment Board charters two career centers to serve the 20-community Metro North region:

  • Career Source in Cambridge and Everett, operated by Employment Resources, Inc.
  • The Career Place in Woburn, operated by Middlesex Community College

Since their inception over eleven years ago, the Metro North career centers have served over 124,000 job seekers, directly placing over 35,000 in jobs.  Our centers are currently serving about 1500 employer customers per year, listing over 15,000 job postings, and providing a variety of other services, such as outplacement and on-site recruitment.

In response to the growing crisis in youth unemployment, The Career Place (TCP) in Woburn has introduced a new initiative, Career Launch, with the goal of helping two hundred Metro North youth find jobs this summer.  TCP is working with local employers to identify jobs and collaborating with local high schools and community-based organizations to recruit young people...

Metro North continues in its efforts to: create deeper relationships with business; enhance the capacity of career centers to provide focused services tailored to the needs of job seekers that are delivered at the right point in time; ensure access to career center services by customers with barriers to participation; foster communication among employers, training providers, education providers, community-based organizations, and career centers; and expand the horizons for youth most in need.
